Visiting Teaching Handouts September 2016

I made some handouts with my favorite quotes from this month's Visiting Teaching Message  Parenthood is a Sacred Duty. I love the story in this month's message that Robert D. Hales tells about him and his grandson.

This story was originally told in his talk Our Duty to God: The Mission of Parents and Leaders to the Rising Generation. I also found a 3 minute video on lds.org that illustrates this story. Click the link below to view this video.

Videos are such great tools! I was thinking, this may be a good opener for discussion in a sister's home where a message isn't usually shared. Who doesn't love a good video, especially a short, cute one like this.
Here is a handout with an encouraging quote by President Thomas S. Monson from this months message. You can pair this handout with some Hershey's chocolate hugs.

I love how frank this quote is. It is a great reminder to keep your children as a top priority.
